About the author: Born in 1984, Amelia Atwater-Rhodes wrote her first novel, In the Forests of the Night, at age thirteen and Demon in My View two years later. She lives in Concord Massachusetts, with her family.
My review: Beloved, gaze in thine own heart. Gaze no more in the bitter glass The demons, with their subtle guile. So Sarah is a vampire Hunter but also a witch. Her mother despises vampires and doesn't want her daughter Sarah to associate with them. But Sarah starts a new school and befriends two of them. Nissa and Christopher. Christopher starts leaving gifts for Sarah. Drawings he had drawn of her. Some with little poems.

I would love for once to meet a gorgeous guy (vampire or not) to leave me gifts with a poem. I think all girls would love that. Some actually get it. Some don't (like this girl)
Sarah's sister Adianna finds out and threatens her for being friends with Nissa and Christopher. Sarah figures if she tells them the truth about herself they won't be friends with her anymore. Sarah finds out where they live to tell them but catches Nissa having a bash. Which is where vampires get together and drink from humans at midnight. Sarah find a out who created Nissa. Kaleo. Sarah has met him already and tried to kill him.
Sarah had went to the dance with Christopher and Nissa. She saw her sister there and finally told Christopher what she is. He didn't care but she finally got him to leave her alone.
Sarah had thought Robert hated her. Turns out he thought Sarah was a vampire. Robert is after Nikolas for hurting his sister. He wants Nikolas dead just as bad as Sarah wants him dead.
Sarah had finally had a chance to kill Nikolas but hesitated because he looked just like Christopher. Sarah is lucky he didn't kill her. Instead her carved his name in her arm and also a rose on the other. Sarah had gotten an invitation to a bash. Nissa doesn't want her to go. Because Sarah wants to kill her brother. Nikolas. Nissa told Sarah how her brother were turned and told Sarah if she killed Nikolas she would have to kill Sarah or try dying. Sarah was still going yo the bash. She had to lie to Adianna.
While Sarah was at the bash with Nikolas Adianna showed up and tried to kill Nikolas. Sarah handed over her weapons and Nikolas let Adianna go without hurting her or killing her.
As Nikolas was about to feed on Sarah Christopher showed up to stop him. Nikolas wanted Christopher to Fed with him on Sarah. But he wouldn't. So Sarah attacked Christopher and didn't let him go till she got her knives back and she was safe to leave. She got her knives back and left. Sarah had went to talk to Kristen, Robert's sister, about Nikolas. She told Sarah how she first met Nikolas and how he had signed her.
Nikolas came to help Kristen. He found out that Kaleo had bitten her and had been feeding from her making her blood bound to him. He also has control of her mind which is why she isn't the same. Sarah's mother found out everything and bound Sarah's magic so she couldn't use it. Adianna told Sarah to leave. So Sarah went After Nikolas.
Christopher and Nikolas fed on Sarah and almost killed her. Christopher turned Sarah to keep her alive because he loved her. I was all smiles when Christopher finally kissed Sarah. Sarah couldn't stay with them and live their lifestyle. So Sarah decided to go on her own.
