About the author: Born in 1984, Amelia Atwater-Rhodes wrote her first novel, In the Forests of the Night, at age thirteen and Demon in My View two years later. She lives in Concord Massachusetts, with her family.
My review: She made a little shadow-hidden grave, The day Faith died; Therein she laid it, heard the clod's sick fall, And smiled aside- "If less I ask," tear-blind, she mocked, "I may be less denied"
She sat a rose to blossom in her hair, The day Faith died- "Now glad," she said, " and free at last, I go, and life is wide" But through long nights she stared into the dark, and knew she lied.

Turquoise is a human Hunter. She is stopped by a woman named Jillian who needs Turquoise and Ravyn to take down a place known as Midnight that has human slaves for the vampires to feed off of. The anonymous man wants Midnight shut down. Turquoise use to be a slave for the vampires but Nathaniel saved her and trained her. Nathaniel is going yo help get Turquoise and Ravyn into Midnight. Nathaniel is telling the girls how to sell the act of being a slave.

-never say your master's name unless he/she gives you permission.
- call your master by milord, or milady
Jaguar is the present master of Midnight. He is to be avoided or he will know the girls aren't really slaves. The girls can't fall fir Jaguar's kindness he once use to be a vicious trainer back when Midnight first started. Nathaniel drugged the girls so they won't know the way to Midnight.
Eric one of Jaguar' s pets showed the girls around. Ravyn also use to be a slave to a guy named Jared. She had escaped.
After Jaguar fed on Turquoise her old master Lord Daryl showed up and looked pissed.
Turquoise had been wanting to find out why the courtyard door was locked. Midday she had her chance since everyone was asleep. She picked the lock and got in. Inside the courtyard was a one, flowers and sunlight. There were also two jaguar's. One named Shayla who was nice to Turquoise then there was a male one which turned out to be Jaguar.
I was shocked when Jaguar kissed Turquoise. I hope Jaguar doesn't go back to the way Jesikah had it.
While Turquoise was in the kitchen with Ravyn Lord Daryl showed up and started beating Turqouise. Jaguar showed up and stopped him. Turquoise had a memory of meeting Jesikah while she was with Lord Daryl. She attacked her and Jaguar whipped her causing her to black out. Turquoise woke up and was chained.
Jaguar was the anonymous man who needed the hunters. Lord Daryl killed Turquoise's family to get her as a slave.
Jaguar knows Turquoise will leave and he wants her to take Eric because Jesikah will hurt anyone to get back at Jaguar. so Turquoise said she will.
Turquoise called Nathaniel and he helped her out. He gave her and Eric a place to stay. While they were out shopping Turquoise ran into an of friend Greg who Cathy had dated before she become Lord Daryl's pet.
Jaguar had met with Turquoise and told her that in Few weeks or maybe a month Jesikah will be gone. He is hiring Triste to take care of Jesikah.
Ravyn is still at Midnight with Gabriel and they have a little bet going on. Ravyn and Turquoise have to fight each other to see who can get the title of a crimson. Gabriel said that if Turquoise wins she is freeblood which means that no one can have claim on her.
Turquoise wants to win but isn't sure she wants the title. Since Jaguar is good with whips he will help Turquoise out the best he can. He has also offered her a chance to be immortal.
Jaguar trained with Turquoise and Turquoise won the challenge against Ravyn. Turquoise was freeblood. But she gave Ravyn the title.
On her way home she met up with Greg and she found out that Daryl burned her house. Eric is okay. Turquoise is leaving Eric with Greg while she hunts Daryl down.
Turquoise had killed Daryl.
